HANCOCK, MI (May 14, 2026) – Industrial technology teachers from across the Copper Country have again shown their strong support for Camp Josh in Ontonagon through the donation of incredible items crafted by students in their industrial technology classes for the camp's annual fundraiser and banquet.

Representatives from Camp Josh recently visited the Copper Country Intermediate School District (CCISD) Career Tech Center to collect student-made items donated by the Calumet, Chassell, Hancock, Houghton, Jeffers, Lake Linden-Hubbell, and L’Anse High School Industrial Technology teachers along with the CCISD’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) Construction Technology, Welding & Manufacturing, and Automotive Technology instructors.

The donated items showcased the remarkable talents of local high school students and included a handcrafted table, an annual snow-measuring gauge, Adirondack chairs, handcrafted signs, and a used Cadillac SRX. These items were included in Camp Josh's annual fundraiser auction at the Konteka in White Pine.

Corey Soumis, CCISD CTE Director, and organizer of the collection said, "It is incredibly rewarding to see the collective impact of our programs when students and staff from across the entire Copper Country unite for such a meaningful cause. This initiative supports the spirit of community service. Seeing our students use their skills and craftsmanship to support Camp Josh shows them that their skills have the power to make a major difference in our region.”

"The dedication shown by these students and their instructors is amazing. Every year, we are blown away by the level of detail and care put into these projects; they are a testament to the high caliber of education our students receive," said Jim Bobula, Camp Josh Board Member. “We couldn't be more thankful for the hard work and passion these instructors and their students pour into this partnership every year."

Camp Josh, located in Ontonagon, operates with the motto "We Measure Success in Smiles" and relies on community support and fundraising events to maintain and expand its programming.
