Welcome to the Copper Country Intermediate School District (CCISD). We are a regional educational service agency dedicated to Supporting a Lifetime of Learning for more than 6,500 students across Houghton, Baraga, and Keweenaw counties. By working together with our local school districts, we provide essential services that help every learner succeed, from early childhood through graduation and beyond.
Every child in our community deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive alongside their peers. On Tuesday, November 3, 2026, voters in Baraga, Houghton, and Keweenaw Counties will consider a 20-year, 0.2903 mill special education replacement millage. This millage replaces the current expiring measure at the exact same rate as levied in 2026. Approval would ensure continued support for more than 1,000 special education students across Baraga, Houghton, and Keweenaw Counties without altering our current tax rate.
