CTE Const Tech - Baraga
This course is designed to prepare students for job entry in the construction field or advanced work in a technical school. The Construction Technology program provides the student with knowledge and skills to build a house from the foundation to its completion. Students achieve a wide variety of hands-on experiences, all related to the multi-faceted construction industry as listed in the content area below. Rules of health and safety as prescribed by the National Safety Council will be adhered to in this course.

Helpful Background Experience and Aptitudes
It is strongly recommended that a student entering the Construction Technology program be able to:
- Add, subtract, multiply and divide
- Convert decimals to fractions
- Convert fractions to decimals
- Read a ruler proficiently to 1/32 of an inch
- Work outdoors in adverse weather conditions
- Climb ladders and work at heights
- Be agile and well-conditioned to work safely
In the area of study skills, a student should be able to:
- Take accurate notes in class
- Use handouts and other materials to study for written tests
- Be willing to do homework on a regular basis
