The Copper Country
Intermediate School District is located on the shores of
Lake Superior in the scenic, rural Upper Peninsula of
Michigan. We serve thirteen local school districts in
the counties of Baraga, Houghton and Keweenaw. The area
offers abundant year-round cultural and recreational
opportunities due to the natural surroundings, extensive
trail systems, and close proximity to the campuses of
Michigan Technological University and Finlandia
University. In addition to a variety of roadside, city
and township parks, the Keweenaw National Historical
Park, McLain State Park, Baraga State Park and Fort
Wilkins State Park fall within our boundaries.
We currently employ and contract with over 80
individuals in our offices, facilities and educational
programs. The types of positions that may become
available include office, transportation, maintenance,
instructional, ancillary, consulting, and administrative
staff. We are an equal opportunity employer and offer a
competitive benefits package.
