Four
one-semester courses offer certifications in
infrastructure technologies, computer network
administration and service technician. Students who have
an interest in computers and are able to use Windows and
DOS systems are candidates for these upper-level
training courses. Students have the option of enrolling
for one or two years depending on their interests and
career goals. Upon completion of each semester course,
students will be prepared to take the A+ Certification
and Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator exams.
Students are strongly encouraged to start with the A+
Certification course.
The A+ Certification course complements the network
administrator training by providing skills to install
and configure hardware, perform diagnostics and be
successful in customer service.
The Infrastructure Technologies course allows students
to identify different network structures and the
hardware used to create them.
The Microsoft Certified Professional course trains
students to link multiple computers for use in business
applications using Microsoft Windows 2000.
The Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator course
prepares students to perform network administration
tasks such as installing, configuring, and operating
Windows 2000 networks.
