The
primary goal of the Teacher Cadet Program is to
encourage motivated students who possess exemplary
interpersonal leadership skills to consider teaching as
a career. This program is an innovative approach
designed to attract talented young people to the
teaching profession through a challenging introduction
to teaching. The program seeks to provide high school
students insight into the nature of teaching, the
problems of schooling and the critical issues affecting
the quality of education in America's schools.

Examine the multiple responsibilities and understand
the professional roles of a teacher;

Explore diverse career options in education;

Observe, explore, and utilize effective teaching
practices;

Recognize aspects of human growth and development
that relate to learning;

Develop and demonstrate leadership, interpersonal,
intrapersonal, and self-evaluation skills;

Develop an understanding of school structures,
operations, and policies; and

Discuss and understand the complexities of critical
issues in education.

Articulation Agreements
Articulation is the process where Career and Technical
Education students who have successfully completed the
Early Childhood Education program and demonstrated
specific skills by an assessment process are granted
college credit for those skills when they enroll at an
educational institution that has an Articulation
Agreement with the CCISD. There is no charge for the
college credit after the student has successfully
demonstrated that the specific skills have been
learned. The following institutions currently have
